Jesse FowlerGrowing up in the inner city made my hobby of athletic dance a necessity. At the time, gang violence was being curbed in the form of a new battle: Breakdancing. As a minority with no gang protection, knowing how to break dance well kept trouble that found me from escalating. Since then I have danced as much as possible in many different forms. In the late 1980s I got into swing dancing, which was more authentic than it is now, and much more energetic. I learned from Frankie Manning, Norma Miller, and Chazz Young, who were in the original swing dance troupe "Whitey's Lindy Hoppers" in the 1930s. My specialty is what are called "air-steps". These are the flips, throws, floor sweeps, and gymnastic dance tricks. I have danced the Lindy Hop on many stages, including local and international competition, halftime shows, and with local and world famous bands in front of hundreds of thousands of people. I was invited to join Kazüm in March of 2005. Thus began my experience with acrobalancing.
Jesse moved on to pursue other interests in June of 2008.
